Personal Trainers

The Oak Lawn Park District Community Pavilion located on 9401 S. Oak Park Ave. (Oak Lawn) is seeking qualified candidates for Personal Training. Trainer must have a current personal training certification from a qualified agency.  Trainers responsible for providing one-on-one fitness instructions based on the client’s goals.  The personal trainer must be capable of evaluating the client’s physical fitness and keep track of progress.  Candidates must have the ability and personality to act as a motivator.   We are looking for individuals with the ability to create rehabilitation programs for various medical conditions.  Individuals must be able to demonstrate movements and exercises and be knowledgeable of the latest fitness equipment and machines.  Personal Trainers must also possess an understanding of basic nutrition.  Involvement with running and sporting associations is a plus.  The pay scale depends on experience. DESCRIPTION
The FLASH Recreation Leader position is a part time/seasonal position. The FLASH Recreation Leader works directly with the participants and is directly responsible for leading daily activities and interacting with the participants at their assigned FLASH location. This may include a wide variety of responsibilities including supervision of participants, the set up and clean up of snack, games, crafts and activities and to contribute to lesson plans. The ideal candidate will be mature, responsible and have a great attitude. The candidate should have the ability to effectively communicate with children and adults.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 16 years old
Experience working with children ages K-5th grade.

HOURS (Typical)
Morning Shift: 6:45AM - 8:45AM
Afternoon Shift: 3:00PM - 6:00PM

WAGE RANGE
$8.25 - $9.00 depending on experience

The FLASH Site Director position is a part time/seasonal position. The FLASH Site Director position is directly responsible for overseeing the daily operations at their assigned FLASH school location. This will include a wide variety of responsibilities including supervision of childcare staff and participants at their particular site, weekly preparation of lesson plans, communication with participants, their parents, school personnel, and his/her direct supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years or older
Experience working with children ages K-5th grade.
Supervisory experience preferred

HOURS (Typical)
Morning Shift: 6:45AM - 8:45AM
Afternoon Shift: 3:00PM - 6:00PM

$10.00 - $12.00 depending on experience

Skate Guard
Applicants must have strong skating experience. The skate guards are responsible for maintaining order and enforcing rules on and off the ice.
The skate guard is responsible for handing out skates and maintaining an organized atmosphere in the skate rental room. The skate guard has a large amount of contact with the public. Guards are also responsible for general custodial duties throughout the building during every shift. Hours will include some evenings and varied weekend shifts. Interested applicants must complete an application, available on this website or at any Park District facility and return it to the Administrative Office located at 9400 S Kenton Ave.

Cheer Tumbling Lead Instructor Wanted
The Oak Lawn Park District is now accepting applications for a lead instructor position for Cheer Tumbling classes.  Must be an experienced high level tumbling coach who has strong leadership skills and strong knowledge of cheerleading.  Pirouettes Gymnastics  program is looking for someone who loves working with pre-teens & teenagers in a friendly work environment with motivated staff in a professional setting. Experienced Boys Gymnastics Coaches- POSITION AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY
The Oak Lawn Park District Pirouettes Gymnastics program is looking for EXPERIENCED BOYS Gymnastics coaches to join our team.  We are looking to develop our Boys program into a Strong Team/Developmental program. The Oak Lawn Park District's Pirouettes Gymnastics program is looking for Experienced Girls Team and Development Coaches to join our team.  We have a very strong team program in place with USAG Levels 5-9 and In-house Level 4 program.   We are looking for Team Coaches who love working with kids in a friendly work environment with motivated staff and in a professional setting.  Part Time hours, Pay will be based on experience. Internships
 
The Oak Lawn Park District is seeking qualified students interested in an internship in the field of Recreation, Sports Management or a related field. Candidates will currently be attending college or be a recent graduate with a major in recreation, outdoor recreation or related field.

Candidates must be responsible, motivated, should have the ability to manage time effectively and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates should possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under the supervision of the administrative staff. The student will assist with the administration, supervision, and leadership of specified recreation and leisure activities of the internship. The duration of the internship is 12-16 weeks, but will ultimately be determined by the intern’s school requirements. It is the student’s responsibility to verify with their professors if the internship qualifies for college credit. Candidates should be prepared to work with children and adults. Candidates should have a valid driver’s license and have transportation to work
The Oak Lawn Park District has positions available at the Oak View Center and the Community Pavilion.

An intern can expect to get a wide variety of experiences by working at the Oak Lawn Park District Racquet, Fitness & Gymnastics Center, Stony Creek Golf Complex, Oak View Center, Community Pavilion, and Ice Arena. Applicants will be formally interviewed before an internship is offered. They will also be assigned to special events, athletics, community events, administrative tasks and other projects as necessary.

Internship Deadlines and Requirements
Applications for Fall internships should be submitted by July 1st.
Applications for Spring internships should be submitted by November 1st.
Applications for Summer internships should be submitted by April 1st.
