JOB DESCRIPTION
Tot Athletic Instructor

The Tot Athletic Instructor is expected to be an expert in the sport he/she are instructing.  Knowledge of Baseball, Soccer, Hockey and Football is a must.  He/She is responsible for teaching beginning participant’s skills specific to the sport in fun and safe manner. 

1 position available.
Wage: $9.00
6-8 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience working with kids in an athletic setting
• Knowledge of Baseball, Soccer, Hockey and Football.
• Ability to act in a professional and mature manner at all times as a representative of the Park District. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To consult lesson plans and teach beginning skills to 3 to 5 year olds.
• Conduct class in an organized fashion.
• Instruct participants in an educational and fun environment. Use positive reinforcement whenever possible
• Responsible for the class equipment and control in the aerobics studio and supervise participants.
• Be aware and enforce all rules specific to the sport being taught.
• Responsible for set up at least 15 minutes prior to class and clean up after class.
• Report any and all unsafe conditions immediately to the Athletic Supervisor. 

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
• Obtain and maintain CPR Certification
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary
• Enforce and abide by the Oak Lawn Park District Policies and general rules
• Responsible for Oak Lawn Park District equipment.
• Work in a cooperative and assisting manner for the constant improvement of all aspects of the Oak Lawn Park District.
• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor as deemed necessary and appropriate under your position. 

PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS:
• Ability to work alone on any shift as the occasion arises.
• Ability to work a varied schedule as required
• Ability to work with staff and patrons in a relaxed and friendly manner.

The Oak Lawn Park District FLASH Before & After School Program is looking for experienced workers to fill 1-3 site director positions. 1 position is available immediately and 2 will be available in the Winter & Spring. Job Title: Site Director

JOB DESCRIPTION
The FLASH Site Director is a part time position working under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor/FLASH Director. This staff member is directly responsible for overseeing the daily operations at their assigned FLASH location. This may include a wide variety of responsibilities including supervision of FLASH staff and participants at their sites, weekly preparation of lesson plans and monthly newsletter input, communication with participants, their parents, school personnel, and his/her direct supervisor. This staff member also is directly responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of FLASH. This may include a wide variety of responsibilities including staff recruitment and training, program supervision, leadership responsibilities, as well as site and program evaluation. This staff member also must be physically able to run, jump, play, ect with the FLASH participants and be a positive representative of a healthy life style.

QUALIFICATIONS
The FLASH Site Director must be at least 18 years of age. The candidate must also have experience in working with children and had experience in a supervisory role.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work program hours before and after school ranging from 6:45am – 9am and 2:45pm – 6:15pm, Monday – Friday. Also be able to work our Full Day Program on most School Days Off and Holidays.
2. Responsible for the leadership of FLASH Leaders and participants at FLASH sites.
3. May be responsible for the weekly preparation and/or implementation of lesson plans.
4. Have input on monthly newsletter, activities, field trips, snack calendars, etc.
5. Must attend all supervisor meetings and monthly full staff meetings.
6. Must hold weekly meetings for their staff at their site.
7. Maintain daily attendance records for participants in the program and find any missing children.
8. Complete and turn in all necessary forms on a weekly basis (Accident Reports, Situation Reports, Absent Reports, Late Pick-Up Reports, Incident Reports, etc.).
9. Insure the safety of participants at all times.
10. Communicate with participants, their parents, school personnel, staff, co-workers, and supervisors.
11. Perform First Aid and CPR as needed.
12. Responsible for two evaluations of site staff (mid-year and year-end).
13. Adhere to rules and policies of the Oak Lawn Park District and the FLASH program, as well as enforce the rules with staff.
14. Must attend complete staff orientation prior to the start of FLASH.
15. Pick-up supplies, materials, and snacks from the Community Pavilion and deliver them to FLASH site as needed.
16. Complete special projects as assigned.
17. Assure compliance with all federal and state standards regarding personnel administration and the American with Disabilities Act.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or/move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The FLASH Leader is a part time position located at School Districts 122 and
123 elementary schools and other Park District facilities. The leader reports directly to the Site Director and Recreation Supervisor. Ice Arena

Skate Guard
Applicants must have strong skating experience. The skate guards are responsible for maintaining order and enforcing rules on and off the ice.
The skate guard is responsible for handing out skates and maintaining an organized atmosphere in the skate rental room. The skate guard has a large amount of contact with the public. Guards are also responsible for general custodial duties throughout the building during every shift. Hours will include some evenings and varied weekend shifts. Job Title: Trades Specialist (H.V.A.C./Plumbing)

Qualifications: This position is primarily responsible for work related to the installation, maintenance and repair of district HVAC, Plumbing, Aquatics, & Fire prevention equipment. This position is also responsible for general park maintenance tasks which include but are not limited to: light construction, mowing, trimming, field maintenance, janitorial, trash collection, & snow removal. A successful candidate must be able to follow written and oral instructions; plan the details of each job and carry it to completion without immediate supervision; supervise the work of others; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees; to perform required duties with initiative, good judgment, accuracy, persistence, integrity, dependability, tact, and courtesy. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Have the ability to work in various weather conditions year round and work a varying schedule when required including nights & weekends.

Education or formal training equivalent to a High School Degree plus, three years experience in related positions may demonstrate the above knowledge, skills and abilities. Education or formal training beyond high school in HVAC or Plumbing trades is preferred as is previous Park & Recreation experience. Duties: Individual will monitor, inspect, adjust, and repair all district owned H.V.A.C. equipment including but not limited to: packaged units, gas fired furnaces, gas fired boilers, chillers, & process refrigeration. Individual will be required to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment to maintain efficient operation. Will assist in maintaining the chemical balance of pools & assist in pool equipment/system repairs. Will submit daily written reports of work performed and keep tools & equipment in usable condition. Will obey & enforce the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the safety program that is pertinent to the activities conducted by the department. Supervise part-time staff.

Stony Creek Golf Complex
Qualifications:
The Oak Lawn Park District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of General Manager at Stony Creek Golf Course. Stony Creek is an 18 hole course that is 5,004 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 65. The course rating is 62.5 and it has a slope rating of 103 on Bent grass. The course was designed by Carl Getz, and features, full-service restaurant and bar, driving range, two indoor golf simulators and miniature golf course.
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Commercial Recreation, Hotel/Resort Management, Sports Management, Golf Management or related field. The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of golf and banquet, or related facility full-time management/supervisory experience. The position is required to possess and maintain an Illinois Driver’s License. Existing certificates in Illinois Food/Sanitation and Bassett Alcohol Certificate, or within six months, is required.

Duties:
The General Manager is responsible for the overall administration, management and daily operations of the Stony Creek Golf Course. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional management experience related to golf course operations and food and beverage services. Team-building, financial tracking, customer satisfaction, customer retention, training and planning are critical skills to be successful in achieving the short and long-range goals of the organization.

Starting salary range: $65,000-$68,000 plus benefits.
