Located at the northwestern end of town, the 8.8-acre Worthbrook Park (89th Pl. & Ridgeland Ave.) was treated to a renovation in 2003 with help from a grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The grant helped transform the park's seldom-used tennis courts into Oak Lawn's first skate park for inline skaters and skateboarders. The 2003 renovation also included the construction of a new picnic shelter, a path, fencing, playground enhancements and a sand-volleyball court. The park also hosts at least one outdoor concert every summer.
