Flash Field Trips

 

On most school days off FLASH offers a field trip to any child in Kindergarten through 8th Grade within School District 122 or 123.  We offer a vast variety of trips, including: Konow Corn Maze, Monkey Island Indoor Playground, The Shedd Aquarium, Mayan Adventures Indoor Water Park, Navy Pier IMAX and many more local favorites. 

How to Register

Current Participants

Participants of the program will receive field trip registration forms from their Site Directors several weeks in advance of each trip.  The forms must be filled out and returned with payment to their Site Director or directly to the Community Pavilion front desk.  There is a registration deadline on each form, and while we will sometimes be able to accept forms late, this will not always be the case.

Non-FLASH Participants

If your child is not already registered for the FLASH Program, you may still sign them up to attend the field trips.  Non-FLASH participants pay an average of $5 more per trip, and also must buy a $5  FLASH T-Shirt to be worn on the trips.  However, It is also an option to sign up for the FLASH Program (must pay an annual $25 registration fee), and get a free t-shirt, along with the participant rate for each field trip.

Pricing

Hours: 6:45AM-6:00PM

Field trips typically cost between $35-$40.

Hourly Cost = $3.11-$3.56

Many parents have requested that we find a way to lower the price of field trips, or find a way to omit trips altogether to reduce the price of our full day program.  Last year almost all of our trips cost $40.  This year, we have lowered the cost to $35 by having children bring their own lunches from home.  When you consider that children are getting 11 hours of childcare, a fun field trip, transportation and an afternoon snack, $35 is a great deal.  We simply cannot afford to charge any less.

However, we do understand that it gets extremely pricy around Winter and Spring Break to send 1 or 2 children on a whole week's worth of $35 field trips.  As a result, we have created FLASH camp where we are offering a large variety of daily scheduling options.  Families will be able to choose their arrival and departure times, rather than paying a flat rate for an entire day that you may not need.
