Raising a Monarch Butterfly Training with the Oak Lawn Park District

Learn how to raise your very own Monarch Butterfly!     

This FREE Raising a Monarch Butterfly training through the Oak Lawn Park District is on Monday, August 19th from 6:30-7:30pm. Learn how to raise a monarch caterpillar from the egg stage until it transforms into a beautiful butterfly. During this training, participants will receive a monarch egg and full materials list of what you will need to raise your caterpillar. The goal is to release the raised butterflies at the Oak Lawn Park District’s Annual Monarch Festival on Saturday, September 14th.

               Registration is per family. Each family will receive one egg. All participants must be over the age of 10 or have adult supervision.

               The training will be held at the Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th St. Pre-registration is required. Register online at www.olparks.com or at any Park District facility (except Stony Creek Golf Course).
