Conservation Jamboree featuring Monarch Festival

Time: 11:00 am-2:00 pm

We're taking Monarch Festival to new heights! Help us celebrate Oak Lawn’s natural beauty with this new family fun event sponsored by Orthopedic Experts! Learn all about the Oak Lawn Park District’s efforts to preserve nature areas and our natural resources. This includes the migration of the monarch butterflies, protection of native plants to increase pollination, and overall recycling efforts. 

How to participate:

  • Check-In and get your Conservation Jamboree Passport

  • Locate the Informational Signs throughout the Prairie to answer questions in the Passport

  • Turn in Your Passport to be entered in the raffle full of gardening supplies

  • Visit our vendor booths and game stations

  • Enjoy one of the guided Prairie Walks with Louis Mulé, Principal & Plant Ecologist

  • The Family Prairie Walk will be at 11:30 am, with the Adult Prairie Walk to begin at 1:00 pm. Ask any and all questions!

  • Everyone that comes gets a pen made from recycled materials, a seed bomb bag, and a repurposed crayon!

  • Take a picture with our mascot, Duke Mallard!

  • Purchase a limited edition Conservation Jamboree t-shirt and gardening bag! All proceeds go to our Adopt-A-Flowerbed program!

Louis Mulé is an Principal & Plant Ecologist that has been working to maintain the Oak Lawn Park District Prairie since the 1990's.
