GO OAK LAWN Summer Steps Challenge

The Oak Lawn Park District’s GO OAK LAWN wellness movement is designed to increase community health through activity, education, and collaboration. GO OAK LAWN is sponsored by Advocate Christ Medical Center.

The GO OAK LAWN initiative is simple: everyone makes a commitment to be active every day in their own neighborhoods, through Park District programs, events, services or at a park/trail. This free initiative offers an opportunity to encourage everyone in our community to take part in improving our health and wellness.

The Oak Lawn Park District will offer a variety of free to low cost activities throughout the year for GO OAK LAWN participants. This is in thanks to Advocate Christ Medical Center’s sponsorship.

The first, official GO OAK LAWN event will be a Summer Steps Challenge. Collectively, the challenge goal is to reach 15 million steps and 6,500 miles in 45 days. To reach this goal, each registrants goal will be 10,000 daily steps.

Participants must register for GO OAK LAWN (code 510000) in addition to the Summer Steps Challenge (code 510001). Registration for both is free and going on now.

MoveSpring App registration is required to log steps and is free. It’s compatible with most step tracking technology. Manual entry with the MoveSpring app is allowed but challenge restrictions apply.

Summer Steps Challenge participants will receive a GO OAK LAWN t-shirt.

T-shirt pick-up information will be emailed to all participants.

The overall steps winner and raffle winners will be announced by the end of August and will receive some awesome prizes.
