New Free Family Event: Summer's Last Blast

The Oak Lawn Park District is excited to announce the newest free event for the community. Summer’s Last Blast will be Friday, August 19 from 6:00-8:30 pm at Centennial Park (94th & Nashville Ave.) and will feature free games and activities, followed by a showing of Ghostbusters: Afterlife at 8:35 pm. The movie will be presented in partnership with the Village of Oak Lawn.

All the activities will be put on by the staff of Oak Lawn Park District and will highlight our many different program areas. This will give everyone in attendance the opportunity to sample a program they may not have done previously.  

“This is a unique opportunity to not only give everyone a small taste of our program offerings for free, but it’s a great way to showcase our great staff, community partners, and wonderful parks and facilities,” said Tom Hartwig, executive director. “We are looking forward to see a ton of people out this event having a blast!”

Oak Lawn Park District will be inviting 24 local businesses to be part of the event for free.  Participating businesses can set-up a booth to add to the fun by providing an activity for kids and families to participate in.  Interested business can contact Justin Waters, Marketing Manager at jwaters@olparks.com or 708-857-2225.
