New Playground to be Installed at Oak View Center

New Playground to be Installed at Oak View Center

Published 8/10/2022

Oak Lawn Park District is happy to announce the replacement of the 17-year-old playground at the Oak View Center (4625 W. 110th St.). George’s Landscaping, Inc. out of Joliet will be performing the installation of the new playground.  Work is slated to begin this week and will be completed this fall.

The new playground will have structures for all ages to play on.  This includes an “ECHO Preschool” structure that is geared towards kids ages 2-5 years-old. The “West Palm” structure will be dedicated for kids 5-12 years-old.  The project will be complete with rubber surfacing and surface mount play panels.

“We’re obviously very excited for this project to get underway,” said Tom Hartwig, executive director. “This is a high-traffic playground at Oak View since we have our day camp and preschool programs there. This playground will get a lot of use and we’re looking forward for our community to enjoy it.”

Kids Around the World, a non-profit organization, will remove the existing playground later this week. They will remove the playground, refurbish it, and construct it in a poverty-stricken community across the globe.
