Adopt-a-Flower Bed

Adopt a Flower Bed Brochure

What is the Adopt-a-Flowerbed Program?
This is a volunteer activity where groups adopt a garden in the Oak Lawn Parks. The group adopting the spot is responsible for planting flowers in May and maintaining the bed through summer and fall cleanup. Maintenance includes weeding, deadheading flowers and cleaning up the bed for the winter. The OLPD will provide all the materials you will need. The OLPD Landscape crew will provide all the plants you will need, bed preparation including fertilizer and soil amendments, mulch for your bed and watering in summer. All the volunteers need to provide is energy, time and enthusiasm! This is a great service project for all ages! If you are a U of I Master Gardener, this project can earn you many volunteer hours.
