Splash Pads and Pool Openings

Lots of work has been done to prepare for the warm weather that is finally here. Preventative maintenance, repairs, and cleaning work have been done across Oak Lawn Park District in preparation to open up our splash pads and community pools. Many opportunities for residents to cool down during the hot summer await.
Central Pool (9400 S. Kenton Ave.), has received a new pool liner and the slide has been painted and will be ready to open Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday, May 28). The pool will be open Monday-Thursday from 10:30A-4:30P and Friday-Sunday 12:30-6:00P. Admission are as follows:

· Individual (ages 3-59) $10 $15
· Senior (ages 60 & up) $9 $13
Centennial Aquatic Center (94th & Nashville Ave.) will open to the public on Saturday, June 4. Patrons can enjoy the 42' slide, 32' drop slide, diving board, wading pool, splash pad, and sand volleyball court. Pool hours are Monday-Thursday, 11:30A-4:30P and Friday-Sunday 12:30-6:00P. Evening hours are 8:00-9:50P.

The Splash Pads at Memorial Park (102nd & Major) and Centennial Park are both currently available for everyone to use. Memorial Park Splash Pad is free to the public and the Centennial Park Splash Pad is free daily until the Centennial Aquatic Center opens for the season on June 4. Free hours will then be reduced to Monday-Thursday, 5:00-8:00 pm and Friday-Sunday, 6:30-8:00 pm. Access to the Splash Pad will be included in paid admission to open swim.
“Our entire team from maintenance to recreation have been working all spring to make sure everything is ready to go,” said Tom Hartwig, executive director. “We know a lot of people have been waiting a long time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine at our pools and splash pads.”
