Blast into the end of summer in the most exciting way possible at the Oak Lawn Park District’s Summer’s Last Blast! This free, family-friendly event will be held at Centennial Park (9401 S. Oak Park Ave.) on Friday, August 15. Enjoy a fun night of high-speed games and activities from 6:00-8:30 pm, followed by a showing of Sonic 3 on our outdoor movie screen at 8:35 pm.

Each Oak Lawn Park District facility will have their own Sonic 3-inspired “zone,” with the theme being a character from Sonic 3. After visiting every character, you will vote for the “Best of the Blast” that had the most fun, creative, and exciting zone!

“The end of summer is always a little bittersweet,” said Tom Hartwig, executive director. “While our camps and outdoor pool season are wrapping up, it also means we get to welcome the community to an evening of free, family-friendly fun at Summer’s Last Blast. It’s a celebration of everything we stand for—being outdoors, enjoying time together, and creating memorable experiences through games, laughter, and connection.”

Facility Characters:

  • Sonic: Oak View Center & Museum
  • Shadow: Ice Arena/Aquatics
  • Tails: Community Pavilion
  • Dr. Robotnik (Eggman): Racquet, Fitness, & Gymnastics Center
  • Knuckles: Stony Creek Golf Course/Community Pavilion
  • Donut Lord: Administration

NOTE: Please use the east side entrance of the parking lot, nearest Centennial Aquatic Center. The west part of the lot closed due to the parking lot replacement project.
