Located at the northwestern end of town, the 8.8-acre Worthbrook Park (89th Pl. & Ridgeland Ave.) was treated to a renovation in 2003 with help from a grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The grant helped transform the park's seldom-used tennis courts into Oak Lawn's first skate park for inline skaters and skateboarders. The 2003 renovation also included the construction of a new picnic shelter, a path, fencing, playground enhancements and a sand-volleyball court.
Construction Project included:
  • Remove and replace the basketball courts and volleyball courts.
  • Replace the skate park equipment concrete modular pieces.
  • Install new ADA playground equipment with an ADA compliant
poured in place rubber safety surface.
  • Installation of a new  family picnic shelter.
  • Reconfiguring the ball fields further to the north to allow for
adequate spacing between the players benches and the street.
  • Installation of a  mini spray pad adjacent to the playground.
  • Creation of new walking paths with fitness stations.
The walking path will interconnect all park amenities.
